The figure of the week: UAH 83.2 million is the expected value of Ukrgazvydobuvannya tender for the SPP construction

Optimization of consumption and energy production is a necessary element of strategic development for each company. The largest Ukraine’s gas producer decided to reduce its own gas consumption by using solar energy. For that end, Ukrhazvydobuvannya announced a tender worth UAH 83.2 million for the construction of a photovoltaic station. SPP will be constructed in the Kharkiv region, where Shebelinka refinery is located. The company sees this project as a future profitable business.

State-owned companies already have an example of using their own territories to locate RES facilities. In July of this year, Ukrtransgaz already reported on the first million hryvnias gained from electricity generation by its own solar station, which is located on the roof.

Company of the week: DTEK invests UAH 3 million to repair the water supply line in the Nikopol district

DTEK constantly implements programs of socially responsible partnership for the residents of villagers located next to RES facilities. When connecting the Nikopolska SPP to the water supply line, the company replaced 1.3 kilometers of the old pipe with a new plastic one, which allowed to improve the quality of water for the local residents. According to the company, the upcoming investment project for the Prymiske village worth UAH 3.2 million is expected to be agreed upon.

The company is going to gradually switch their own TPPs to using gas group coal. In particular, already the third unit of the Pridneprovskaya TPP was switched to gas coal.

Event of the week: The government agreed to allocate the land for the construction of the WPP on the territory of the exclusion zone

Over the past two years, foreign investors were interested in opportunities to deploy RES fasilities in the Chernobyl zone. They, in particular, submitted more than 60 projects. Last year, the government adopted a number of amendments that facilitate commercial activities in the exclusion zone. The main goal of future projects is to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the energy balance of Ukraine.
