Company of the week: Western Ukraine’s largest SPP was opened in the Lviv region
Eco-Optima opened the first stage of the power plant in Ternovytsya village, Yavoriv district, Lviv region. Its capacity is 36.5 mW, annual output is about 41 million kWh. The square of the first stage of the facility reaches 70 hectares. The total square of the solar power plant is 140 hectares. According to the company, the SPP second stage is expected to be launched already in December this year. Under the project, the SPP will be of 72 MW, annual electricity output will reach 80 million kWh.

The event of the week: Ukrainian RES associations seek fast launching auctions for market stimulation.
Five Ukrainian associations that bring together the largest renewables market players signed a memorandum, where they agreed their proposals on legislative changes to the good of the auction model introduction to stimulate the market. The document, in particular, refers to the reduction of green tariffs and the reinforcement of low-level generation from clean sources.

The figure of the week: The World Bank presented a program for the development of electric storage
systems worth USD 1 billion
The program is specifically designed for low- and middle-income countries. Representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, the State Agency on Energy
Efficiency and Energy Saving, Ukrenergo, business and experts considered opportunities for using this program in Ukraine. According to Sergey Savchuk, head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, the electric storage systems will allow balancing the integrated power system and in a great measure increasing the capacity of the energy facilities.
